NOISY MOTOR CYCLES.

T wish to endorse all that your correspondent, D. Munro, has said with respect to noisy motor cycles. Letters have been appearing in the "Star" for the last twelve months or more protesting against this increasing nuisance, and no action lias been taken against the selfish individuals who are responsible for the unnecessary din created by these motor bikes. How much longer are ciFizens to be annoyed by this thoughtless minority? I have known them to speed past the public hospital in the early hours of the morning creating an awful noise, which must be very trying to suffering patients. I note the Har° hour Hoard is to frame or amend a bylaw so as to deal with noisy outboard motors. Why cannot the City Council take action against the owners of noisy motor cycles? E. DONALD.

I would liko you to spare me space in your paper re correspondence on Xoisy Motor Cycles." I think it absurd the way in which some people speak of motor cycles and the noises which they make. D. Munro spoke of "noisy exhausts" and I would draw his attention to the fact that the law requires a. silencing box fitted on everv exhaust. 1 believe that I am quite sate in saying that there ia not one in .")!) motor -cycles capable of coming on people "like a tornado" with '"toot toots" and "blasts" sis your eorrspondent stated, and if so, well there must be something wrong. Surely if he thinks that they are so noisy, no cannot expect to be run down by them a.s i«s possible with a silenced car driven with perhaps live to ten times more horse power than a motor cycle. KICK START.
