AUCKLAND ROTARY CLUB.

TO-DAY'S MEETING

.There was the usual full attendance at to-day's lunch meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club, held in the Lewis Lady Concert Hall. President Geo. Hutchison occupied the chair.

Amongst visitors were Messrs. G. F. Birks (Sydney), J. Hunter Watts (En<-* land), A. C. Davis, F. R. Jones and E. Wallace (Wellington), and Chas. Bolingcr (Sydney).

The chairman said it was understood that Rotarian T. Low would be able to attend as a delegate the next International Rotary Convention, to tpen at Dallas, Texas, on May 2(i. He also mentioned £bat last week a number of members had attended at Rotarian Weslev Spragg's home to wish him felicitations on his 81st birthdav.

Rome time back the club appointed a Sixth Object Committee to establish communication by correspondence with Rotarians in foreign countries, and today the chairman "read replies that had been received from Rotarians in Barcelona and in Venice. These gave interesting sidelights upon conditions existent in those cities.

The speaker of the day was Rotarian Stan. Reid, whose subject was I, A Challenge to the Rotarian —What Manner of Man is He?" While admitting that Rotary suffered from the weakness common to all humanity, the speaker referred to the extraordinary growth of the movement as a proof that its ideals were appreciated.
