MINISTER'S VISITS.

HON. H. ATMORE AT SCHOOLS

The Hon. H. Atmore, Minister of Education, visited the Grammar School at Takapuna yesterday afternopn, and later went on to St. Stephen's Rural School for Maori boys at Northcote. He was welcomed by the Mayor of Xorthcote, .Mr. A. E. Greenslade, and Mr. J. W. Williamson, Mayor of Takapuna. He was shown over the institution by Bishop Cleary and Father Spielings, principal of the school. The Minister was presented with an address by the Maori scholars, this being read by the prefect. "This is the first agricultural college T have visited since my elevation to Cabinet rank," said Mr. Atmore. He commended the work being done by the guardians of the institution toward the uplift of the Maori race. He felt they were to be heartily congratulated upon the work of the school and the provision for the comfort of the students.
