FISH AND GAME.

GOOD CATCHES AT ROTORUA.

TAUPO REPORTS FAVOURABLE

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

WELLINGTON, this day,

Reports forwarded from Rotorua by the Conservator of Pish and Game to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, indicate that good catches continue. At Taupo a further improvement in fishing has been noted at both ends of the lake.

The report concludes: "The prospects for the latter half of the season are exceedingly bright, as there is every indication that definite 'runs' of fish ■will follow every 'fresh , from now on. The result will be a longer period of fishing under the ideal conditions that so frequently prevail only during the last month. The advanced condition of the fish owing to the early upstream migration will probably see an early spawning, and this augers well for the nort season."
