TE AROHA MEETING. PROGRAMME FOR TO-MORROW THE FIELDS REIEVVED. Tho Te Aroha Jockey Club will hold their annual meeting to-morrow and Monday next, and with the excellent fiolds that are drawn on the first day this popular fixture is sure to attract a large attendance. The Jumpers. The opening event is the Ruakaka Hurdles, one mile and a-half, and Highflown heads the list. He has won in his last two starts—at Taumarunui and Tβ Awamutu, carrying 10.7 and 10.5 respectively—while lie is in to-morrow with 10.5. Ripon Abbey has proved himself a good hurdler this season and he should be one of the hardest to beat. Ramblin' Kid won the Auckland Hurdle Race, two miles, at Ellerslie on January 2 in most convincing style, but hae been unsuccessful In two subsequent outings. Star of the East won the Kopaki Hurdles, one mile and three-quertera, in hollow fashion at the Te Kuiti meeting, while Gala Day was second to Higbflown at tfie TValpa meeting and was runner-up to Berinthia at Stratford. The last-named, who is also engaged tomorrow, looks a likely sort. Of the others Boomerday and Odin may be the best. The chief selections may be RIPON ABBEY, HIGHFLOWN, BERINISIA. Twenty figure in the Waitoa Handicap, and on recent form the public may ■elect sm mond, BOLD ARCHER, AECSETTE. The Two-year-olde. Thirteen -remain in the Juvenile Handicap and Eaglet and Polyxena, who figure at th- head of the list, will be ~i demand. Both won at the recent Takapuna meeting, and Eaglet performed well before that. Flying Prince has scored in three events this season, while Love Call has also won a similar number of races. Awamutu has also raced consistently. Valstreet and Trig may appeal most of those lower down. In the event of Eaglet not starting, most money may go on

POLYXENA LOVE CALL AWAMUTU. A Big Field. Tweuty-nine have been paid up fof in the Shaftesbury Hack Handicap. Subdivision has pride of place with 9.5. This gelding won the Puriri Handicap, six furlongs, and the President's Handicap, six furlongs, at the Thames meeting recently, while he dead-heated for third place in the Wynyard Plate at Takapuna. Air Ring won the Stanley Handicap, seven furlongs, at Takapuna in the spring and has been placed on other occasions. Whaka King ran prominently at Rotorua and looks as though he is nearing his best form. High Tide also has a good deal of speed find finished third in both his efforts at Kotorua. British King has done little of late, but Grand Tea showed' ability in the spring, winning over seven furlongs at the Avondale meeting. King Peg won the Novice Handicap, five furlongs and a-half, at the Ohinemuri meeting last season and has only started on two occasions this season. Te Ngeru raced well at the Waikato spring meeting, winning over six furlongs and being second to Hakanoa, seven furlongs, on tlie second day. Palmares raced prominent.ly at the Rotorua meeting, while Unoco scored over a mile at Rotorua, after running well in three starts just previously. Flying Tresses, Footpad, Orchus, Indolent and Brilliant Light may be most fancied of the others. Most money may perhaps be entrusted to SUBDIVISION, WHAKA KlNfi, UNOCA. The Herrlee' Memorial Cup. A good field is engaged in the Herries , Memorial Cup. Flying Juliet won the Tiikapuna Cup with 7.13 and was fourth in the- Takapuna Jockey Club Handicap with 8.9. Now she has 8.11 and should run a good race. Transformer was second in the Auckland Racing Club Handicap to Pegaway. Earlier in the season he won the Te Kuiti Cup and later the Alison Cup at Takapuna. Royal Doulton has performed well this season, and was a bit unlucky at Takapuna. She will only have to race the same to be rery hard to beat. In The Shade has only had a couple of starts since he returned from Australia, his second being at Rotorua last Saturday when he was runner-up to Branson in the Tourist Handicap, six furlongs. He finished well and there is no doubt that he is not very far from his beet form. Mervett* , . disappointed at Rotorua, but all t\c same she had won five races on end previously and her chances cannot be lightly discounted. Desert Glow is a good horse over a mile and a-quarter, while Queen Arch won the Ma ta mat a Cup, and was just beaten in tlje Rotorua Cup. The Lover won the latter event, and Moeque scored in the President's Handicap on the concluding day of the same meeting after being most unlucky in the Cup. The best fancied aro likely to be

IST THE SHADE ROYAL DOULTON THE LOVER The Sprinters. Pegaway has 9.13 in the Waihou Handicap, and probably this will be a bit too much for him in such a short dietance event. High Finance has been showing good form this season and at the recent Takapuna meeting won the Zealandia Handicap and the Suburban Handicap, on the latter occasion carrying 8.9. Now she has 9.3. Branson won well on the first day of the Rotorua meeting, so that with 9.4 he will havo to be respected. He also ran a great race on the second day with 9.10, being beaten by The Begum. Tea Time *L a - g .L B F >ri »tei\ and has raced most C'w , *. 17 l his season - He is to Send it!" The Champion Hack Cup. Hakanoa is top weight in the Champion Hack Cup, and with 9.7 he should go well. Maori Boy is a useful sort, while Lucy Rose won over seven furlongs and 80 yards at Rotorua. Black Maire was eecond to Hakanoa over eight furlongs and a-half at Matamata, and Mussie was second in the Wynyard Plate at Takapuna recently. Tβ Money dead-heated with Owairaka over nine furlongs at the same fixture, while of the others Illingar, Glena Bay and Brampton may have most support. The favourite division will probably be TE MONEY HAKANOA BLACK MAIRE. The Concluding Event. The meeting will conclude with the Hot Springs Handicap, and perhaps the best backed will be ARCHEEN CYNTHIA N. TI TREE. A special train will leave Auckland at 6.20 a.m. to-morrow for Tβ Aroha.
