HOUSEBREAKING AND THEFT.

YOUNG MAN ON TRIAL.

Charged with breaking and entering and the theft of articles valued at £19, Antona Wallingford Fleming, aged 25, represented by Mr. Reed, stood his trial before Mr. Justice Blair at the Supreme Court to-day. The evidence given by witnesses for the prosecution was that the premises of George Wakelin, acetone welder, Chancery Street, were broken into and a number of articles, including a gramophone, were stolen. The following day the gramophone was sold to a dealer, who afterwards identified Fleming as the vendor. Another dealer identified accused as the man who had sold him It was also shown that accused had known Wakelin for some time, and had been a frequent visitor to Wakelin's house. : (Proceeding.)
