Develop. TURN FOR BETTER. (Australian and N.Z.' Press Association.} LONDON, February 13. Dame Nellie Melba has been in bed for a fortnight. She is seriously ill from bronchial influenza. The doctors feared pleurisy would develop, but fortunately she has now taken a turn for the better. She hopes to be well enough in a week to go to Italy in search of sunshine. Dame Melba is' planning to return to London for the opening of the opera season on April 22. A new company, known as the New Covent Garden Opera Syndicate, has been established, for which Dame Melba has undertaken to supervise the productions. She has taken a house in Bryanston Square for the season, and intends to devote her whole energies to promoting the success of the new Covent Garden venture.
