Arthur Marhen, arch-lover of tobacco in the pipe, whimsically attributes the origin of the philosophical custom, of smoking to Pythagoras. That worthy philosopher ptijoined his disciples to keep their practice ;i secret. However, "it began to be noised abroad that there were certain men who inhaled the smoke of an herb which made them content with all things," whereat the popula-e burned down the club or Pythagoras and all the tobacco stored therein. And from that time no man in Europe saw tobacco Tor nigh two thousand years. -'Content with all things" truly expresses the state or rnind of a maa smoking Dill's Best to'bacco. Its friendly fragrance ami good cheer will be enjoyed by hnn every day, its natural lear has ,been perfected into one of the most satisfying tobaccos ever made.— (Ad.)
