(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
AKAIIOA, Wednesday
The Sanders Cup Dominion Conference «;is held at Akaroa tliis evening. Delegates representing Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, Southland a-i.l Napier were present. Mr. W. Duncan (Wellington) was appointed chairman, and Mr. W. A. Wilkinson (Auckland) secretary. Remits dealing with crews under 21, and the establishing of a fund to build six boats, were defeated without discussion. The (piestion of moulds for outside measurement of boats prior to eontests was deferred until Monday. It was decided to hold the lirst race on Thursday at 2 p.m. over a windward and leeward course, two races on Friday, one at 10 a.m. and one at 2.:U) p.m. All five boats will be allowed to compete until one wins three races. The time limit is three hours. The delegates were accorded a reception. Akaroa Harbour is a fine sheet oT water. 10 miles long bv three wide, surrounded by hills, which will make the course tricky in light and moderate weather. All crews are keen, and were out this afternoon stretching sails and getting a run of the harbour. The Wellington boat is much fancied for very light weather, while the Avalon takes popular fancy in moderate weather. The crew of the latter is quietly confident of winning. Boats and crews are: — Avalon (Auckland). —A. Willetts (skipper), F. Cloke, J. Currie. 1. Larritt. Clyde (Wellington, built by E. Bailey for L. Smith and selected after eight trial races). — Noil Rountree (skipper), R. Rountree, C. Prince, R. Kerr, A. Alilred. Colleen (Canterbury, defender). —F. Morrison (skipper), J. Treleaven. A.
