(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INYERCARGILL, Wednesdav. A cricket match between Southland "and Otago was begun to-day in fine weather and on a good wicket. Southland batted first and scored ISO (Cherry 33, Tapley 16 Lynch 37, McGowan 10, Diack 13, Keast Nisbet 12). Eastman took fire wickets for 60 runs, and Shepherd four for 17. Otago has lost five wickets for 265 (Strang 30, H. C. Alloo 59. Eastman 27, Monk 71 not out, Galland 36). STRAND-MAJESTIC THEATRES V. FIRE BRIGADE. A match between these teams was plaved at Victoria Park yesterday. The StrandMajestic team made 206 (Furley I">3 retired. Poore 41, Purdv 29).
