NEW LYNN'S STATUS.
BOROUGH OR TOWN BOARD 1 TODAY'S POLL. Polling is taking place to-day at New Lynn, with a booth at the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, on the (juoton of changing tlie local authority's status from that of a town board to a borough. In view of the small opposition to the proposal at the sitting of the commission, those in favour of tin; change in the district's constituiton expect the proposal to be carried. As was anticipated, polling this morning was moderate, but should be heavier this evening when New Lyiui voters return from the citv.
