LEVEL CROSSINGS
RAILWAY INVESTIGATIONS
ELIMINATING BAD PLACES

WELLINGTON, this day.
Officers of the Railways Department are at present engaged in collecting data in connection with level crossings in New Zealand. It is understood that the railway crossing warnings, the respective claim sof different cremsings for equipment with warning signals, the methods of reducing danger and kindred matters will be looked into.
"There arc about .3000 Jcvel crossings in New Zealand, and wherever the Department can do so it is assisting to eliminate the worst places." said the 'Minister of Railways, the Hon. W. E. Tavenier, to-day.
