NEW MOORINGS.

PUNT AT POINT CHEVALIER.

ACTION BY MARINE DEPARTMENT

The moorings of the well-known bathing punt at Point Chevalier were lifted this morning, and a fresh location for the aquatic facility was found on the opposite side of the peninsula. Of late complaint was made by the City Council that the mooring of the bathing punt off the beach had caused the foreshore to be stripped of sand, and the matter was taken up with the Marine Department. As a result of inspection of the locality by a departmental official it was decided to shift the punt to a new site.
