'THE PLACE IS FULL OF THEM'
COUNSEL AND DETECTIVE
With Chief Detective Hammond prosecuting "ii "no side and Mr. ,T. J. Sullivan defending on the other, there is often an argument at the Police Court. This morning, at Courthouse Lane, in the stone building where justice is administered, Mr. Sullivan was crossexamining a detective. He asked the officer if it were not a fact that lie spoke to a witness in the.corridor of the court. "You are always suspicious," said Mr. Hammond. "This is another mare's nest." Mr. Sullivan: Really, the place is full of them. We are about to discover the biygest in a week or two. (Laughter.)
