Night Struggle.

EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE.

(Received 12.30 p.m.)

PERTH, this day.

Damage estimated between £50,000 and £70,000 was done by a bush five which enveloped the greater part oi North Dandalup, near Pinjarra.

Driven by a fierce wind, the flames consumed large stacks of timber. All the inhabitants of the district assisted in stopping the progress of the fire by means of a break.

After a strenuous fight, lasting ail night, they managed to prevent the fire from crossing into thousands of acres of cleared country, and thereby saving their homes.
