U.S. CRUISER BILL.

Coolidge Deprecates Filibuster

In Senate.

HOPEFUL FOR A VOTE.

(Australian and N.Z. Press Association.)

(Received 10.30 a.m.)

WASHINGTON, January 22.

It is reported that President Coolidge is confident that the Senate will reach a vote on the Cruiser Bill at the present session. The President is represented at White House as believing that the Senate would reach the vote in its own way, although no reference was made to the filibuster which, it is alleged, is going on against the bill in the Senate. It is clear that President Coolidge believes that these tactics will not be effective.
