SOCIAL GATHERINGS.

*Mrs. E. A. Clive, of Remuera, gave a smart afternoon tea party yesterday, the gueM or honour being Miss Betty Lockhart. Blue hydrangea and multicoloured carnations were profusely u«ed in the lounge, drawing room and tea table. Mrs. Clive received the guests in a black fringed crepe de soie. Miss Lockhart was in reseda, green georgette, hat to match. Among those who attended were: Mre. Armstrong, Miss D. Isaacs, Miss F. Murray, Mrs. Willis, Miss J. Murray, Miss Williams, Mies Clive, Miss Walk, MLso Coleman.

A delightful tea party on Monday afternoon, was ijsldvftet "Harmston," Gillies Avenue, executives, conveners and secretaries of til© Auckland Hospital Auxiliary being entertained by Mrs. Alfred Kidd. Mrs. Ridd received her guests in a flowered feorgette; Mrs. Ernest Davis wore a eige lace and chiffon ensemble suit; Mia. Murdock Smith, champagne lace, wh lido bine sash; Mrs. H. M. Marler, nastic toned georgette, with periwinkle Mue lace coat. Among the guests were: Ws.
