ALTERATION OF LIMITS.

SLOW TROTTERS' RACES

On Saturday in these columns attcution was drawn to the alterations in several of the. classes, of races, to U decided at the summer meeting of the Otahuhu Trotting Club, as compared with the original programme drawn op and published in the book programme. Another alteration has now been made, and owners or slow-class trotters should particularly note that the Trial and Suburban Handicaps, which are the opening events on the first and second days respectively, are now for horses that have not won at better than 2.23 to the mile. The Trial is run at a mile and a-half, limit 3.45. and the Suburban, two miles, limit 5 minutes.

The other alterations have been referred to previously, but owners should make themselves fully conversant with the new conditions, and they have ample time to do this as nominations do not close till Friday. February 8, with the secretary. Mr. R. L. Absolum. The full programme will be found advertised in this issue.

The owner-trainer of Golden Hula is keeping the chestnut going. So far this trotter has not done any good.

•T. MeKendrick, who is particularly ffood at educating young horses, is pottering about with a couple at Epsom. One. a half-sister to Free Advice, is a nice pa-cer. antl drives every indication of turning out above the ordinary.

G. Stubbs is a regular attendant at Epsom, hut so far rhis season he has not raced anv hor*es. He has the bis gelding Speed Kin- doing plenty of jogjrins and will no doubt have him at some of the country meetings. Stubbs is also working a maiden pacer out of Bequest
