MATCHES ON ANNIERSARY DAY.

Members of the Auckland Cricket Association's management committee met last evening, Mr. E. E. Nalder presiding.

Letters from the Luna Park management, inviting members of the Auckland and Wellington rep. teams and officials to visit the park on Friday and Saturday, and from Messrs. Milne and Choyco, inviting them to morning tt-a "tomorrow, were referred to the entertainment committee. The Wellington side will arrive by the first express tomorrow morning. A strong protest against the playing of grade matches on Anniversary "bay was received from the Eden (Jhi'o. It was decided to play matches in all grades on Anniversary Day, the hours of play to be from 9.45 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1.45 p.m. to 4.15 p.m., and 4.30 p.m. to 0.30 p.m. It was decided to inform the Waikato Cricket Association that the association could not see its way clear to .end an Auckland team to Hamilton on Anniversary Day.

Turton and Harvey, of the four umpires submitted by the Auckland Association for the Plunket Shield niaJeh. commencing at Eden Park on Friday. Mr. J. S. Hanna, manager of the Wellington representative .team, reported that it was almost certain that a match would be played between Wellington and Waikato at Hamilton on January 23 and 24, after the match with Auckland.
