?HE N.Z. ASSOCIATION. NEW RULES AND AMENDMENTS. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. A special meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association adopted a new cycling rule and several amendments. Kule 6, clause (d), page 79, was subjected to alteration, on the motion of Mr. G. S Bright, seconded by Mr. E. G. Guy, and now reade as follows: —"In all races where more than one competitor starts from the same mark, lots shall be drawn by the competitors, who shall take precedence, counting from the inside of the track. Where only one is on the mark he shall start at the bottom of the track." Mr. E. G. Guy moved the adoption of a new cycling rule, Mr. G. S. Bright seconding his motion. It is to the effect that any rider or competitor, in any road race, taking or accepting outside pa*e or sheltering, shall be disqualified for any period the referee may determine, and forfeit all claim to any prize or trophy. A footnote was added defining outside pace or sheltering as any competitor riding behind or on either side of a cyclist or cyclists who are noncompetitors, or a motor cycle or motor car, or any other moving conveyance the referee considers to be of assistance or advantage over the other competitors in the race. It was decided to amend the clause of the New Zealand A.A.A. handbook governing the duties and powers of referees to read as follows: —"In a scratch or championship race of a distance of more than half a mile held under the rules of the.
