TASTE FOR LITERATURE.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. About 70 delegates attended the eighth annual conference of the New Zealand Retail Booksellers' Association, which opened this morning, Mi* G. H. Bennett, of Palmerston North, presided. In welcoming the delegates the Deputy-Mayor, Mr. Sullivan, said the booksellers could give further service to the community by trying to eliminate undersirable booke.
The chairman, in reply, said the object of the conference was to increase members' efficiency. They wished to promote the good of the community by selling good literature. The taste for literature in New Zealand certainly was improving. c . ■--,»- —
