SHOW AT WHAKATANE.
ASSOCIATION FORMED. BUILDING IN TIME FOR MAY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAKATAXE, this day. A largely attended public meeting was held under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce at Whakatane last night, when it was decided that the winter show, which was successfully inaugurated last year, should be continued. Plans for a proposed building of 110 x 70 feet were adopted. The meeting decided to form a Bay of Plenty Winter Show Association, to be incorporated. The executive was empowered to proceed with the building as soon as sufficient finance was arranged. The following executive committee was appointed:—Messrs. W. Sullivan (president), J. M. Hobin (secretarv) R. W. Schofield, F. B. Cutler, E *w' Beckett, R. L. Leee and H. G. Rand. The executive met after the meeting and decided that the method of finance should be by the issue of debentures, etc. The show this year is to be held in the last week of May.
