RANK OUTSIDER WINS.
"Xo more sensational Trotting Cup has been decided in Perth than the one which fell at Xazimova, on December 2!>," remark? the "Referee." "Xazimova started at 100 to 1, the rankest outsider of the field. Nevertheless, she won her heat and final in remarkably good style. Another ex-Xew Zealander in Taraire was favourite for the race, but, despite the fact that he surmounted tremendous obstacles to qualify for the final, he was beaten, out of a place. The first heat was won by Great Storm, from Taraire, Virus and vSeattle, but an accident early in the race caused interference to Miss Chicago, Derby Rock, Vin Direct and Taraire, and the favourite lost a great deal of ground, which he made up in impressive style. The second heat was taken by the froutmarker. Xazimova, at a 2.1S clip, from Collingwood's Pride, Eulinya Bells and Fulham Pronto.
"Xazimova also won the final well, at a 2.17 gait, from Eulinya Bells (2.14?) and Collingwood's Pride (2.18), with Seattle and Fulham Pronto dead-heating for fourth."
