I So successful has been the Victoria League Cookery Book, which was compiled from recipes collected by many well-known ladies of Auckland, who each signed their names, that edition after edition has sold out, greatly to the benefit of the local charities which are assisted. The latest edition is a bridal de luxe, which has been compiled in the hope that it will be of use to young brides beginning their housekeeping experience. A number of new recipes use small quantities of materials and thus save waste, and several menus include vegetarian dishes for a family of four, and range over soups, savouries, meats, sweets and vegetables and all forms of breads, cakes and other dishes likely to be needed in any wellconducted home. Our copy from the Victoria League rooms.
