NEW FACTORY.
PROJECT FOR WALTON. MANUFACTURE OF CHEESE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MATAMATA, this day. In connection with the proposal to establish a cheese factory at Walton, a further meeting was held, Mr. F. E. Harris presiding, and Mr. Curtin. dairy consulting engineer, giving information relative to costs. Mr. D. Moroney explained the financing, and it was declared that several banks were willing to supply the capital for a Walton co-operative dairy company to build its own factory.
A committee consisting of Messrs. A. G. Gillingham and F. E. Harris was appointed to secure information to be put before another meeting. The weight of opinion seemed to he in favour of having a factory to be owned by the people of the district.
