Oh ! Summer is a maiden fair. With perfumed rose* In her liair. Keatt'ring wilU flowpre on her way, Rp.toirlnK In each gladsome day: The earth lights up at her advent, Butterflies gay are messengers iseut. Sli<! paints Hip sky n glorious blue. An«! evening clouds u delicut<* hue; The busy bee from nwtar pups. from dainty, coloured flower cups : Thu songsters flit, amongst the trees. Swaying in the gentle breeze. Her day is longer than her uight, Kor sht;"s a spirit full of light. King Sol beams forth hi* sunny ray. Smiles on her as she trips away ; The earth is better for her reign. And eagerly waits for return again.
