VICTORY SAFE.

BACK FROM NORFOLK ISLAND.

ANCHORS AT WHANGAROA.

AUCKLAND YACHT'S LONG TRIP.

The Auckland yacht Victory has returned to Totara North, Whangaroa, from Norfolk Island.

The Victory left Auckland on December 19. On board were Messrs. Harold George, owner, of Northcotc, Captain G. George of the Hikurangi, and Mr. Cecil Bowman of Northcote. The weather was boisterous at the time. The Victory worked up the coast, and then started on the final leg of the 600-mile journey, the distance from the North Cape being about 350 miles. Norfolk Island was reached on December 26, and after a stay of a few days the trip back to New Zealand was commenced.

The Victory is a boat of seven tons, with an overall length of 38ft. She is regarded as a fine seaboat, and was once sailed in a race of the Royal N.Z. Yacht Squadron by Lord Jellicoe.
