WELLINGTON, this day,
William O'Halloran, a bushman, went into Wanganui on December 21 with about £50, booked a room at a boardhouse, and went drinking. Coming back, he went to sleep in the room, and on waking in the morning he found his money gone. It had been taken by George Brock Aaron Forgeson, aged 34, who had shared the room.
Forgeson was subsequently arrested at Wellington with £40 in his possession, and in the Police Court to-day he pleaded guilty to the theft of a roll of notes amounting to £39. He was given six months' imprisonment.
