BLENHEIM, Tuesday.
The Auckland touring' team, under the managership of Mr. E. C. Beale, commenced a two days' match against Marl* borough here to-day. Batting first, the visitors compiled 252, Schnauer top scored with 51 not out, Other batsmen to reach double figurea were Colin Lawrie (44), Langridge (34) i and Gee (29). Marlborough fared badly, losing seven wickets for 84 before stumps were drawn. Gee took four wickets and Webb; three. The Aucklanders not playing are Roa Bush, Butler and Vivian. It is considered unlikely that the gaiu§ will be finished, owing to rain.
