CITY COUNCIL.

The Auckland City Council met last evening, the Mayor (Mr. G. Baildon) presiding. Aero Club's Application.—An application from the Auckland Aero Club for financial assistance to purchase an additional 'plane was referred to the Finance j Committee for report. Offer Declined.—Messrs. T. Mandeno •Jackson wrote in connection with the proposed continuation of Gore Street to Quay I Street, and offered, for £20,000, the property in Quay Street, known as Quay Bond. The offer was declined. Motor Camping Site.—An offer from Messrs. C. F. Bennett, Ltd., of eleven acres of land at Bollard Road, Avondale, for £5000, an area 6aid to be suitable as a motor camp site, was declined. Model Yachts.— Ati application from a number of owners of model yachts for permission to erect temporary dinghy sheds at Orakei Basin was referred to the Parks Committee. St. Helier's Wharf.—A communication from the Tamaki Ratepayers' Association, pointing out that the council had power to repair the St. Helier's Bay wharf, was referred to the Works Committee. Mission Bay Roads. —Following a complaint that roads on Mission Bay Estate, Kohimarama, were neglected, the Works Committee recommended maintenance work at a cost of £500. Mutual Contributions.-—The commencement of improvement work on The Drive, Epsom, at a cost of £2452. was authorised, the Mount Roskill Road Board offering to contribute £1250.
