ENFIELD TO GENERAL BINGEN.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

CHRPRTCHURCH, this day.

Splendid weather favours the final day's racing at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting, and there is a very large attendance. The track is in good order.

In the Governor's Handicap Mount Royal led out of the straight, followed by Lady Fan, Young Carbine, Nourmahal and Nelson Boy. The order was the same at the end of half a mile, where Nelson McKinney joined in at the tail of the front bunch. A little further on Nourmahal broke when going well. Passing the stand Mount Royal was two lengths in front of Young Carbine and Nelson Boy, with Lady Fan and Nelson McKinney handy. Mount Royal was in trouble half a mil© from home, where Nelson Boy went to the front, witih Young Carbine and Lady Fan next and Sarsaparilla moving up. They entered the straight in the same order, and in a great finish Nelson Boy beat Young Carbine by a neck. Sareaparilla was a head away, with Lady Fan a neck further back. Times: 3.27 1-5, 3.28 2-5, 3.24 3-5. General Bingen Stays Well. In the Enfield Handicap Darknite led along the straight from General Bingen, Auguste Dillon and Amaris. At the end of two furlongs General Bingen and Darknite were together, with Amaris and Auguste Dillon just behind them. There was no change half a mile from home, where Golden Devon was four lengths away, at the head of the next bunch. _ A furlong further on Auguste Dillon joined General Bingen in the lead. Auguste Dillon led General Bingen into the straight, with Golden Devon and Jean McElwyn close up, at the front of the next division. In a good finish General Bingen stayed on better than Auguste Dillon, whom he beat by a neck. Jean McElwyn was half a length away, with Bonny Logan two lengths further back, fourth. Times: 2.11 3-5, 2.10 4-5, 2.10. The Big Race. Peterwah was the only withdrawal from the Christchurch Handicap. Cardinal Logan broke at the start and Vesuvius led along the back, followed by Kohara and Talaro, while at the end of a furlong Jewel Pointer was in fourth place. Passing the stand Vesuvius was two lengths in front of Kohara, with Talaro, Jewel Pointer, Cardinal Logan, Waitaki Girl and Jack Potts following at similar intervals. The order was unchanged going along the back, although the gaps closed up a little. Starting on the last lap, Vesuvius had Kohara and Jewel Pointer as his nearest attendants, with Talaro next, while two lengths away came Cardinal Logan and Waitaki Girl, just in front of Jack Potts. They raced without change until three furlongs from home, where Vesuvius went on well clear of Kohara, with Jewel Pointer next. This was the order into the straight, where Vesuvius commenced to tire, while Kohara broke. Talaro was in front a furlong from home, and after an exciting finish Talaro won bv a. length from Jack Potts, who beat Waitaki Girl by a netk, while a length away came Kohara, a neck in front of Jewel Pointer.
