CIVIL ENGINEERS.
CONFERENCE IN ROTORUA
The delegates to fhe conference of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers were accorded a civic reception in Rotorua. The Mayor, Mr. J. N. McLean, said the council had in view in the future a more commodious structure as a municipal building, and if they decided to visit Rotorua on another occasion he was sure they would be very wclcome. Mr. W. Gray, the president, thanked the Mayor and council for their kindness and for the programme of entertainment which was mapped out for them. " During the evening a paper was read by Mr. F. C. Bunyard, the borough engineer, on "Municipal Undertakings," and a paper on "Aerial Ropeways," by Mr. O. M. Hope. A full discussion took place. To-day the party was conveyed over the forestry reserves and nurseries and inspected the local quarries and other points of interest in the district.
