BUYING FROM ENGLAND.
As a New Zealand and dairyman, I wish to vigorously protest against the recent purchase by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., of a large fleet of American motor trucks. While motoring from the Waikato yesterday I was disgusted to see these new vehicles en route for delivery bearing the name of the company. Surely, in the name of common justice, money paid to na by British people for New Zealand products should go back for British, not American, trucks. British commercial vehicles have been a proved success under New Zealand conditions for many years and can be purchased at competitive prices, therefore there is no excuse for this policy, particularly in view of the fact that America imposes a duty of sixpence pelpound on our New Zealand butter. Our livelihood—almost, one might say, our very existence—depends on the support of British people in the purchase of our primary'products, and the very least we can do is to reciprocate wherever possible. Every British commercial vehicle bought averages at least twelve months' work for one British worker. Ate Ave really trying to make our Empire more prosperous? Let us drop this suicidal policy of buying from England's competitors. BUY FROM ENGLAND.
