FLYING ANGEL MISSION.
MANY FUNCTIONS FOR SAILORS
Several socials and outings arranged for the large number of seafarers from overseas vessels in port have been greatly enjoyed during the week, and the Flying Angel Mission to Seamen Institute has been a very busy place. The girls' branch of the Harbour Lights Guild entertained visitors at the institute on Monday. The mission staff assisted in organising the ihter-watch sports of the steamer t)eVon, which were held at the naval depot by the courtesy of Commander N. Glover, R.N., on Tuesday. In the evening a concert was given at the institute by the members of the St. Albans Girls' Friendly Society. On Wednesday a cricket match was arranged between the cadets from the Devon and the Dilworth Institute. The game Was played on the Dilworth Ground, and was won by the cadets by 117 nins to 53. After the game Mr. N. Gibson and the housemasters entertained the sailor lads. The St. Matthew's members of the Girls' Friendlv Society and Toch H members arranged a pleasant social at the institute in the evening. Last evening Mrs. Milsom, vice-president of the Harbour- Lights Guild, was the hostess at the institute.
