Yesterday an official of the Thrifty Shoppers' Movement approached innumerable people in Queen Street and , KarangaRoad, asking: "Are you a member of the Thrifty Shoppers' movement, and have you a Membership Book with you?" Among those approached were two young ladies on the footpath at the entrance of J.C.L/s, Queen Street. They were not members, and so missed £5. One lady, living in Mount Eden Road, was a member, but she had left her book at home. Another lady, living in Warnock Street, Grey Lynn, was In the same position. If they had had their books, and carried them always, they would have received the £5. The fortunate member to receive the £5 was Mr. J. Carrol, who had only become a member one hour previously.
