MAY QUEEN JUBILEE.
Much satisfaction at the highly successful celebrations that attended the jubilee of the arrival of the ship MayQueen in Auckland was expressed at a meeting of the committee held last evening in the Orange Hall, Mr. (3. Norgrove presiding. After paying expenses there remained a surplus, and the committee decided to hold a reunion next year. It was reported that the descendants of the people who arrived in the .ship were so pleased with the evening gathering on the day of the celebrations that had decided to make it an annual event, and to invite the surviving passengers. The meeting expressed much satisfaction at the masterly way in which the celebrations had been organised by Mr. Norgrove and the secretary (Mr. J. Rawlinson), and also passed a special vote of thanks to the "Star" for the interest it had taken in the event.
