(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. The weather was fine for training at Riccarton. The outside of the course proper provided good going, though it was not particularly fast. Childsplay sprinted half a mile in 49 4-ss. Paperchase occupied 1.19 1-5 for six furlongs, while Banket took 1.21. Commendation covered seven furlongs in 1.32 4-5. Historic galloped a mile, the last six furlongs in 1.19 3-5, while Panther ran five furlongs in 1.5 3-5. Speed Light sprinted half-a-mile in 50s. Prickles, with assistance all through, ran a mile and a-quarter comfortably in 2.18. Denier led N6teworthy over half-a-mile in 545. Silvermine beat Arrow Lad over half-a-mile in 49 2-ss. Roscrea, with Toawai as mate over the last five, covered seven furlongs in 1.32 3-5. Golden Armour ran half-a-mile easily in 535. Full Feather and Quarterdeck sprinted half-a-mile comfortablyFirst Sight registered a useful gallop, covering seven furlongs in 1.32 1-5. Admiral Drake, Gold Tinge, and Cossack Chief were in that order after running half-a-mile in 50 4-ss. Cashier covered seven furlongs in 1.32 2-5. Silver Coot beat Callanmore over five furlongs in 1.9 2-5, not ridden out. Hoylake, carrying a good weight, had Bolero as a mate over seven furlongs done in 1.32 3-5. Hoylake was going particularly well at the end. Silver Paper covered six furlongs in 1.18 4-5. Silver Eule beat Royal Suxon over five furlongs, the last half-mile taking 51s, a performance which Cimabue equalled by himself. Honeycomb beat Some lad. with Amor a long way back, over six furlongs in 1.19 1-5. Pink Note waa just in front of Rotor, with Count Cavour beaten off, at the end of a mile and a quarter in 2.18 2-5. Bright Glow beat Consent over six furlongs in 1.18 2-5. Decoy Bird took 55s for half a mile. Ned Kelly and Nine of Spades were schooled over four hurdles, Ned Kelly shaping the better of the pair. Royal Flower and King Midas were well matched in six furlongs in 1.18 2-5. Rapier beat Battle Colours by two lengths, with Beacon Light a length away, after doing a mile and a-quarter in 2.14 2-5. Oratrix and Concentration ran nine furlongs, the last mile taking 1.48 4-5. Mundane just beat Laughing Prince over a mile and a-quarter in 2.14 2-5. Shining Armour finished a long way in the rear. Bonatic gave a satisfactory display over four hurdles. Sarnia did an easy half-mile.

Front Bank and Mendip galloped six furlongs, taking 54s for the hist ba'f. After breakfast Camisader beat Phaetar over half a mile in 535. Set Sail and Solrose covered a mile in 1.47 3-5. After showing a lot of speed over four furlongs Lucy Locket cleared out from Apple Dighton, and finished a mile in 1.46 3-5. Booster was given an easy run of half a mile. Stealth was better than Franeolin at the end of a half-mile down -the straight. Gay Sonnet ran seven furlongs easily in 1.38. Teri sprinted half a mile in 52 3-ss. Beau Geste had Croilus as mate in a gallop from the mile post, in 1.51 4-5.

HATAMATA CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Matamata Racing Club was held on Thursday, Mr. G. G. Bell presiding. The report stated that the Tirau Club had amalgamated with Matamata in January and had added strength. The financial position had improved as a result of the last race meeting, the d*-bit in the capital account being reduced to £763 9/7, as against £1109 10/1 the previous year. Officers were elected as follow: — Patron, Mr. F. F. Hockly, M.P.; president, Mr. J. W. Anderson; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. G. Johnston and K. J.

Maisey; committee, ». * guarantors, Messrs. A. Stewmrt, <* G. Pavze J. P- White, J. Downey and P. Hitchcock. The dub decided to apply for a permit for a non-tote meeting to be held on New Year's Day. The new president is chairman of the Matamata County Council and was for many years president and staiter for the Tirau Club. He is a breeder of the thoroughbred but does not race them. Mr. G. G. Bell, the retiring president, did not seek re-election.

WHANGAREI RACING CLUB.

Handicaps for the spring meeting of the Wangarei Earing Club will be declared to-morrow and acceptances are due at 5 p.m. next Monday with the secretary, Whangarei, or Messrs. Blomfield and Co., High Street, Auckland.
