NEW WORLD'S RECORD,
BREAK OF 1461 BY LINDRUM

CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. From an unfinished break yesterday of 851, Walter Lindrum, playing Clark McConachy in a match of 18,000 up, took the break to 1461, a world's record, to-day. He thus beat his previous record of 1417 by 44. The scores at the end of the evening session were:—Lindrum, 5872, including breaks of 240, 158 and 128 unfinished; McConachy, 4130, including breaks of 139, 100 and 236.
