SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION.

START OF THE SEASOIf. SENIORS AT THE DOMAIN. I As in the past the senior matches of the Suburban Association, which opens its season to-morrow afternoon, will be played at the Domain. There are six teams in the running for top grade honours. Harbour Board B has gone down to B grade, and its place has been taken by a team which has won its way by annual success from fourth grade up to seniors. The new team is stated to be a well-balanced side, and includes E. Stallworthy and J. P. Dickson, who played last season for Ponsonby. Ponsonby has recruited young players to fill the vacancies mentioned, while Harbour Board A, Ellerslie, Green Lane and Glen Eden also have been somewhat strengthened, so that the standard of the play is expected to be rather above that of 1927-8. The new coach, G. Cox, of Sussex, will arrive next Tuesday, when a decision will be made about which team he will play with, as well as his coaching programme for the year. All things considered, the omens point to a good season. The chief difficulty encountered by the association this season is .caused by the loss of ten wickets on the Remnera ground (purchased by the Girls' Athletic Association), as a result of which the association may have to relinquish its fourth and fifth grade, and lodge games, and concentrate on improving the quality of the higher grades. Teams for to-morrow are:— GREEN LANE. Seniors—Wrothall.
