WAIHI, this day.
Mr. E. McGregor, the United party candidate,for Thames, addressed a fairsized audiencfe in the Miners' Hall last evening. Mr. A. H. Blackmore presided. The candidate, who was suffering from severe influenza, and had risen from bed that afternoon, eaid that though he felt the least worthy of the United party candidates, they were a first-claee body of men, of outstanding ability. Hβ then proceeded to criticise the Coatee' administration Three years ago, he eaid, Mr. Coatee personally dominated all others, but there was nothing of that now. Reform candidates were now telling their constituents that they were not going to follow their leader blindly. The candidate wae given ft vote of thanks, and no question* w^ra-aekod.
