BURGLARY IN WHANGAREI.
WHANGAREI, this day. By breaking a pane of glass in a side window and lifting the latch, an intruder gained entry to Mr. D. Barton's cycle shop in Bank Street last night. From the cash drawer he removed about 2/ worth of stamps, but the cash, including several bank notes, was locked away in a strong safe. In an open drawer was a packet containing accumulators worth over £1, which was not touched. A quantity of mechanical apparatns may have been removed.
