3IRS. DUFAUR LEADS. Thanks to a strong sow'-westerly breeze, conditions for the Auckland ladies' provincial golf championship between Mrs. R. Dufaur and Miss D. Horton, which is being played at the Titirangi links this afternoon, are tricky. A fair gallery of lady enthusiasts is following the play. Mrs. Dufaur was 2 up at the ninth tee.

The first hole was halved in fours. Each took 3 to the green for the second, where Mrs. Dufaur sank a splendid 18ft putt to win 4—5; Mrs. Thifaur 1 up. At the next Mrs. Dufaur put her drive out of bounds and played a second shot from the tee, eventually abandoning the hole; all square. Mrs. Dufaur won the fourth, and the next was halved. At the sixth, Miss Horton duffed her second shot and overran the green with her fourth. Mrs. Dufaur was short with her third, but got within inchest of the pin with her fourth and Miss Horton abandoned the nole; Mrs. Dufaur 2 up.
