EXCITING FINAL EVENT.

The Labour Day sports at the Domain yesterday were concluded before a large crowd. Although the track -was a trifle on the slow side, there were exciting finishes in both the-cycling and running events. In addition, interest was fully maintained in the dancing section.

A feature of the othletie side of the programme was titer performance of T. K- Cambie, a visitor to Auckland, who won the 100 yds and 220 yds handicaps. Cambie, until recently, was a professionaL '

The final event of the programme, a miss-and-out cycle race, was a most exciting affair. Thirty-six riders started and the last two at the end of each lap were called off. In the ninth, lap six riders fell, and in the tenth four more came down and three retired. The final thrill of the day was provided when one of tbtt three competitors left in for "the final lap crashed but remounted and rode into second place.
