FASHION'S VAGARIES.

Long Sleeves; Masculinity

Gone.

LATEST FROM PARIS.

("Times" Cables.) (Received 12 noon.)

LONDON, October 21

The "Times" Paris correspondent says long sleeves are now distinguished in afternoon dresses, the Btyles of which are simple and comfortable, not displaying the masculine influence. Black is more frequent than colour.

Some coats have a cape and sleeves; in others capes are cut pointed behind. Details, such as belts, collars, cuffs and pockets and handkerchiefs confer with the individual style.

The new hat is checked or plain velvet and resembles a beret attached to a stiffened headband, the colour harmonising with the dress.

Fur ties knotted at the throat are partly superseding the fur collais. Flowers and jewellery, but more restrained, will be worn and straight hemmed flounces will be more fashionable for afternoon wear than the uneven hem line.
