SOCCER FOOTBALL.

THE SEASON ENDS.

FALCON CUP TO TRAMS,

The curtain fell on the 1928 Soccer season on Saturday with one of the most stirring club games of the season, when Tramways defeated Ponsonby, adding the Falcon Cup to the senior championship, as the outcomo of the season's efforts.

From staTt to finish the game was of a brisk and lively nature, without a dull moment, and with flashes of sparkling play. Ponsonby threw away two penalties during the game, and probably by that means lost the trophy, but on play there was little between the teams.

In the first half Tramways took a decisive lead as the result of goals by Davis, McElligott and Spong, while Stewart registered only score, though the side were unlucky in not having another one. Early in the second half E. Williams put one through for Ponsonby, and in a rattling finish no further score was made, the game ending:—
