FIRE AT EPSOM.

Damage to the kitchen only was done by fire which broke out in the hot water service of the house belonging to Mr. O. Holmes, 27, Ranfurly Road, Epsom, about 1.45 this afternoon. The cowhair packing round the heating system caught fire.

Quick work by the Remuera and Parnell Brigades soon had the flames out, and it was necessary to use only first aid apparatus.
