THE WAIKATO HUNT.

ANNUAL RACE MEETING.

THE PROGRAMME REVIEWED.

Tie annual meeting of the Waikato Hunt Club will be held at Cambridge on Monday. This is usually a very popular fixture with the Auckland public, and if the weather is fine there will be a large attendance. The running at To Rapa to-day may have a good bearing on some of the events to be" decided on Monday. The Opening Event. The programme will open with the Maiden Hunters' Steeplechase, for which 14 have been paid up for. Bendower, who heads the list, finished third to Holly combe and Peep o' Day in the Hawke'a Bay Hunt Cup Steeplechase ]**t June, and Nabob was second to Prince Lnpin in this event last season. Motive was fourth in the Greenmount Steeplechase at the Raknraoga Hunt meeting, while there ie little known •bout the others. Probably the best lacked will be BENDOWER, NABOB, MOTIVE. The Bardowie Handicap. Eighteen are accepted for in the Bardowie Handicap and they form a very Atir field. Air King waa a useful sort last season, winning over sis furlongs Taumarunui and being placed in a eerea-furlong event at Takapuna. Hitter has a lot of pace and ran second to Whaika King in a division of the Vauxfcall Handicap at the laet Takapuna spring meeting. She scored in a sixfurlong event at Taumarunui and waa also jnst beaten by a nose by Green Acre over seven furlongs at Taranaki at ChjSftmas time. Abbey Queen ie racing at Te Rapa to-day, and on her running at Avondale, when she finished doss up to Storm Fiend and Maori Boy, who dead-heated in the Mount Albert Handicap, six furlongs, she will be faneied. Bert Hinkler haa shown a bit of pace in his race*, while Upoko waa third to Arikiwai and Piurfait Amour in the second division' of 41m Maiden Plate, seven furlong* at the Avoodals spring meeting. Foreign Fancy showed a good deal of pace in her races earlier in the season, as , did. Black Maore. Leitrim, Mon Star, Violation and Kings* land may be the best of those lower down.
