HOBSON CROQUET CLUB.

Despite adverse weather conditions, the Mount Hobson Croquet Club opened their season yesterday afternoon. A delicious tea was served in the pavilion, which was decorated in the club's colours, red and white flowers and bunting. The president, Mrs. J. C. Badeley, opened the season. The greens are in perfect condition, and four new lawns have been added, besides shelters. The occasion was the fifteenth anniversary for the club. A large birthday cake, decorated with the club's colours (red and white) adorned the centre of the table, and was cut by one of the first presidents, Mrs. M. G. Harvey. The president, Mrs. Badeley received the guests in a powder blue marocain; Mrs. R. Abbott wore a chocolate English tweed suit, brown felt hat; Mrs. Schnauer was in a fawn and powder blue ensemble suit and fawn hat; Mrs. R. Keesing wore a brown suit; Mrs. F. J.
