MUNICIPAL MUSIC.
As the outcome of the controversy which has arisen in connection with Town Hall concert recitals and the tuning of the organ, the Auckland City Council is seeking information from Wellington and Australian centres in regaid to the various points raised. At the meeting of the council last evening L. A. Eady urged that a small committee l»e set up to govern musical affairs, with power to act, the position to be reviewed at the end of six months. i'-adv said few municipalities in the Empire had such an advanced musical policy as Auckland. The city had one of the finest organs in Australia aud New Zealand, and it had the services of outstanding musicians. , a brief discussion the council decided to await further information before taking any action.
