Under ideal conditions the Auckland Trotting Club brought its two (lavs' 6pring meeting to a close yesterday afternoon at Alexandra Park. The track was in excellent order, and though the fields in several events were on the email side, the horses competing were al! proved performers. The attendance when the racing commenced was surprisingly large for an off-day, and the crowd increased as the day wore on. The totalisator investments during the day amounted to £37,583, compared witl: £45,380 10/ on the corresponding day last year. The grand total for the meeting was £73,430, against £88,931 last year, a decrease of £15,501. The earlier winners were: Etta Cole (Green Lane), Laplander (Newmarket) Gold Jacket (Alexandra), and Harvest Child (Junction).
